Finding the Best Deals...
- Booking.com (website and app): This is like the Google search engine for the best deals everywhere from hotels, flights, and activities! Always start here
- Viator and GetYourGuide (website and app): Find activities, tours, and concerts for the best prices and transportation there. My top picks for finding unique experiences.
- BluePillow.com: SCAM! There are probably a few true reservations but I have not had such luck. Listing photos do not match the location or the location doesn't exist and you cannot get a refund.
Destination...
- The number one mistake I have made when traveling is picking a place to go and then making plans. Ask yourself, 'what do I want to do?' and then search for places that offer this. It really expands your horizons. After deciding what you want to do, pick a hotel/hostel within walking distance.
- Learn some basic phrases in the preferred language of your destination. Even if it is just Hello, Thank you, How are you, Good… While most places speak English, especially if its economy depends on tourism, but people take a liking to you if you give it a go. 9/10 they end up going the extra mile for you and show you hidden gems or take you to local places.
Airplane...
- Here is what I pack for the most enjoyable experience on longer flights since I am a proud rider in the scum class.
- BlueHills travel blanket/pillow
- face mask and skin care for a refreshing spa moment
- headphones, not earbuds (amazon sells knock-off apple headphones and I stand by them)
